“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Jung
Hey Tribe 🤍
This past weekend I attended a birthday party for a friend of a friend, and I found myself in one of those rare conversations where no one is trying to impress anyone, and everyone feels safe enough to be themselves.
Just honesty. Curiosity. Presence.
We ended up talking about power.
Not the loud kind.
Not the kind that needs to be seen.
But the quieter kind that shows up when you stop running on autopilot, and start choosing how you actually want to live.
So many people are struggling not because they lack potential, intelligence, or awareness, but because leadership was never installed inside their own system.
When leadership isn’t conscious, life runs on default settings.
🍥 Scarcity instead of choice.
🍥 Fear instead of discernment.
🍥 Drama instead of direction.
🍥 Victimhood instead of agency.
Not because anyone wants that life—but because it’s familiar to the nervous system.
🍥 When leadership isn’t present, old programs take over.
🍥 The inner child looks for safety.
🍥 The ego looks for control.
🍥 The body-mind looks for efficiency and avoidance.
And suddenly, without realizing it, you’re reacting to life instead of leading it.
That’s why this work isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about recognizing who’s driving in any given moment—and reclaiming the seat when it matters.
So how does leadership actually get installed?
Not through willpower.
Not through positive thinking.
And definitely not through shaming yourself into “doing better.”
Leadership installs the moment awareness meets responsibility.
It happens when you pause long enough to notice:
🍥 Something in me is activated.
🍥 This reaction belongs to a younger or protective part.
🍥 And I’m here now.
The pause is everything.
Because the nervous system doesn’t shift through insight alone.
It shifts when a regulated adult presence enters the room.
When you name what’s happening without judgment.
When you orient back to the present moment.
When you choose from safety instead of urgency.
That’s when the inner child doesn’t need to protect.
The ego doesn’t need to control.
The body-mind doesn’t need to brace or avoid.
Leadership isn’t asserted.
It’s felt.
And over time, through repetition, the system learns: I don’t have to run this anymore.
That’s where the Five Selves come in:
- The Inner Child (emotion, memory, protection)
- The Ego (identity, defense, control)
- The Body-Mind (habit, stress response, survival)
- The Higher Self (clarity, values, wisdom)
- The Adult Leader (you, now)
Most people don’t realize they’re not “being inconsistent” or “self-sabotaging.” They’re regressing, letting a younger or protective part run the show.
And the good news? This isn’t a character flaw. It’s data.
Patterns are simply information showing you which self is in charge.
Here’s what pattern data looks like in real life:
🍥 You avoid a direct conversation, then resent the tension.
🍥 You over-give, then feel boxed in by what you created.
🍥 You delay visibility or sales because your system reads it as danger.
🍥 You oscillate between drive and shutdown and call it “just how I am.”
Nothing is wrong with you. Something is patterned. And here’s the pivot:
You don’t fix patterns. You lead them.
Leadership is the moment you say, internally:
“I’m in charge now. You’re safe. I’ve got this.”
That’s nervous system regulation.
That’s self-allegiance.
That’s adulthood installed.
A 2-Minute Leadership Check (try this today)
- What keeps repeating?
Name the loop without judgment.
- Which self is driving right now?
Inner child? Ego? Body-mind?
- What would my Adult Leader do if safety were already here?
One clean action. One honest sentence. One grounded choice.
This is the real shift:
From self-fixing → self-leadership
From identity → pattern awareness
From reaction → responsibility
When you read your patterns as data, you stop fighting yourself
and you start changing what actually matters.
This is exactly what we do inside the Leadership Re-Boot Diagnostic.
We map the pattern beneath the problem, identify what it’s protecting, and recalibrate leadership where it counts.
