Have You Noticed the Shift?

08-04-2026

"Sometimes the most uncomfortable seasons of life aren't asking you to become someone new. They're asking you to stop pretending to be someone you're not."

Hey friends 🩵

Have you noticed a shift lately?

I have. Not just recently, but for years.

In fact, I made a video about it back in 2024, that went viral, because so many people were also feeling it.

At the time, I couldn't fully explain it. I just knew that the life I had been taught to pursue no longer felt real or inviting, and I wondered if I was depressed or sick.

As I sat with those feelings, I realized I wasn't simply depressed, or sick. I was simply changing my beliefs and I was grieving.

Not the loss of a person, but the loss of old identities, old beliefs, old definitions of success, old versions of myself... and perhaps mostly, old illusions of the world.

Because once you begin seeing through something, it's very difficult to go back to seeing it the way you once did.

I found myself questioning why so many things we've normalized actually leave people feeling disconnected from themselves.

  • Why are we constantly encouraged to consume more, achieve more, buy more, and distract ourselves more... yet so many people feel less fulfilled than ever?
  • Why have we accepted relationship patterns that leave people feeling lonely?
  • Why do we wear exhaustion like a badge of honor?
  • Why do so many of us spend years chasing a version of success that never quite brings the peace we thought it would?
  • Why do the very institutions that our designed to keep us safe and healthy, appear to be doing the opposite?

I wasn't becoming cynical.

I was becoming curious.

The more I studied childhood development, neuroscience, the subconscious mind, and nervous system regulation, the more I realized something fascinating.

We don't just inherit beliefs from society. We inherit them from our families, our communities, and our culture.

Over time, we stop asking whether those beliefs are actually true. We simply begin calling them normal.

Until one day...

Something inside us starts asking different questions.

  • Is this actually true?
  • Do I really believe this?
  • Who taught me that?
  • Is this how I want to live?

I don't think it's a coincidence that so many people seem to be asking those questions right now.

Whether you describe it as ascension, awakening, a shift in consciousness, a spiritual unfolding, or simply a season of profound personal growth, something feels different.

It feels as though we're being invited—perhaps even gently forced—to become more conscious. To question the identities we've been living from. To notice the patterns we've mistaken for personality. To let go of what no longer aligns. And to remember who we were before fear, conditioning, and survival convinced us we had to become someone else.

I'll never claim to know exactly what's happening.

But I do know this...

The conversations I'm having today are very different from the ones I was having five years ago. People aren't just asking how to become more successful anymore. They're asking how to become:

  • More authentic
  • More peaceful
  • More alive

And to me...That feels like a very hopeful shift.

Have a beautiful week, friends. 🤍

P.S. This Thursday on (re)Parenting Radio, I'm exploring why so many people seem to be feeling this shift right now, and why I believe it may be one of the greatest invitations we'll ever receive—to become more aware, more authentic, and more ourselves. I hope you join me :-)

08-04-2026 "Healing isn't always dramatic. Sometimes it's simply noticing that something no longer has the power it used to." Hey friends 🩵 This week, a client sent me a text that I haven't stopped thinking about. For a couple of months, we've been working together on recognizing old patterns, learning to regulate her nervous system, and responding differently in relationships that have historically left her feeling anxious, frustrated, and emotionally drained. One of those relationships is...

Reading another book Listening to another podcast Going to therapy Journaling Meditating Now, don't get me wrong. Those things absolutely matter! They help us understand ourselves and our patterns. But I've come to understand through experience that these things aren't where the healing actually...

08-04-2026 "Children don't just read books. They are constantly reading the emotional environment they're growing up in." Hey friends 🩵 This week I attended a conference in Boston where one of the speakers shared some heartbreaking statistics about childhood literacy. Long-form reading is declining. Screens are consuming more of children's attention. Educators are seeing reading scores fall. IQ's are declining And every bit of that matters. As I sat there listening, I realized everyone in the...
