"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." — Franklin D. Roosevelt
Hey Tribe,

Change is often viewed as daunting, yet it holds the promise of new beginnings and unexplored possibilities. 🌱
In honor of this, I want to share a deeply personal story about one of the biggest and most rewarding changes I've ever made. My hope is to inspire you to take a chance and face your fears. After all,
"Nothing happens outside the comfort zone!" 🛌
So, grab that cozy drink 🍵, snuggle in, and join me on a journey filled with faith and transformation🌀
Back in February 2022, my husband, Brian, a seasoned landscape architect with 25 years of experience crafting high-end resorts across the globe, stood at a crossroads. 🌍✈️ The pandemic had thrown a wrench into his career, prompting him to seek a fresh direction. 🔄
As a life coach, I guided him to delve deep into meditation to uncover his true desires. 🧘♂️
“What would you do if you couldn’t fail and money was no object?” was the exercise.
Emerging from this introspective journey, he came back with,“I want to build my own resort!” 🏖️🏨
So, I encouraged him to come up with a plan and move in that direction. 🗺️🚀
A Little Backstory on Brian
When the recession hit in 2008, Brian lost his job with the large architecture firm and began his own firm in Denver, where he lived with his first wife. 🌆
Palm trees were nowhere in sight 🌴, and he struggled to find projects that resonated with him and his portfolio, causing serious strain on his finances and his relationship at the time. 💔💸
After four years of accumulating debt and facing bleak job prospects, he accepted a position in China out of desperation.
Yes, China! 🇨🇳 Not a small move.
He spent 5 1/2 years there, during which his marriage ended and eventually so did the job in China. 🏢⛔
He returned to the States in March 2017. We met that April and married that August—another great story, but for another time! 💍❤️
The idea of building his own resort would have to rely solely on investors. 💡💼
Both of us were navigating post-divorce financial instability and the pressures of starting new careers and Brian's second round of starting ALL over again! 😓🔄
We were already feeling worn down from instability and change, and all these high life changes were no small emotional feat to undertake as newlyweds. 💑💫
To add even more layers of change and challenges to the mix, in May of 2017, I experienced a spiritual awakening and was gifted with light language. ✨🕊️
This was a development that added an intriguing layer to our journey and also a great story, but back to this one.
The excitement was palpable as Brian drafted plans and attracted the attention of potential investors. Yet, as the months slipped by without financial commitments, uncertainty cast a shadow, and our bank account continued to feel the strain. 💰⏳
At the time, I was working as a nanny, our main source of income, while simultaneously gathering insights for my new career as a life and conscious parenting coach and children’s book author. 📚👶
In September 2022, Brian posed a life-altering question:"If the investors don't come through, would you still want to move to Mexico, and I’ll hang a shingle as a landscape architect down there?" 🇲🇽🌴
The thought of uprooting to Mexico without financial security or language skills or a clear income path was daunting, to say the least. I didn’t speak a word of Spanish, and Brian's proficiency was limited to four years of high school training.
My coaching career was in its infancy, and my children's book was still unpublished. So, my initial thought was, "hell no!". 😱
However, I decided to sit with the question instead and told him I would get back to him with an answer after I had time to check in with myself and my higher self.
And lo and behold, one day while tending to a sweet little girl, that I was caring for, that familiar voice, my higher self, whispered a powerful nudge: “Do it! Go to Mexico." 🌮🏖
This inner directive was as undeniable as the moment I heard, “Do it!! Move to Colorado,” prompting me to leave my hometown in Massachusetts for Colorado at 18, with no plan but a heart full of hope. 🏞️🗺️
Guided by my spirituality and intuition—now stronger than ever post-awakening—I listened intently. With faith in that voice, I came home from nannying and over dinner said to Brian,
“Okay, let's do it. Let’s move to Mexico.” 🏡✈️
Our house hit the market on November 11, 2021, and by January 1, 2022, we were pack up and headed to Mexico, embarking on a journey full of uncertainty and faith.
The move challenged us and our cats in unimaginable ways—financially, emotionally, and relationally. Yet, three and a half years later, I can confidently say it was the best decision we ever made. 🐾❤️
It pushed us to confront fears, limiting beliefs, and adopt a locked-in positive mindset, leading to profound personal growth and a richer faith in life’s possibilities. 🌈🧘♀️
