Have you ever noticed how your inner dialogue shifts throughout the day? From the gentle whispers of self-doubt to the loud proclamations of "I can't," our self-talk creates the foundation of our experienced reality. This week, we're exploring how the words we speak to ourselves shape not just our thoughts, but our entire vibrational field and the reality we manifest.
As a quantum perspective teaches us, we are spiritual beings having a human experience through our physical avatars. Our self-talk isn't just mental chatter—it's a powerful energetic force that programs our subconscious mind and shapes our vibrational frequency.

What many don't realize is that self-talk operates on multiple frequencies. There's the surface-level dialogue we're conscious of, but beneath that lie deeper layers of programming that silently guide our perceptions and actions. These hidden layers often stem from childhood experiences, societal conditioning, and past traumas.
THE LAYER OF SELF TALK
UNCOVERING THE HIDDEN DIALOGUES
Think of it like an iceberg:
- The tip: Our conscious self-talk ("I need to finish this project")
- Just below: Our emotional commentary ("I'm worried I'll fail")
- The deep waters: Core beliefs ("I'm not good enough")
- The ocean floor: The root of the Core belief ("I am disempowered and separate from Source")

I want to introduce you to a powerful tool that was shared by Shi Heng Yi - the R.A.I.N. framework. While I have adapted it to pertain to Self Talk and changed the 'N' to focus on nurturing, as it aligns with our re-parenting work, the core concept offers a beautiful way to work with our challenging emotions and self-talk patterns.
As explained by Shi Heng Yi: R stands for Recognize - first identify what type of feeling is coming up. A stands for Acknowledge or Accept - if there's fear, jealousy, anger, or any emotion you realize about yourself, accept it by saying "yes, at this moment I feel really angry" or "I feel really sad" or "I feel the fear rising." I stands for Investigation - like a detective, ask yourself why these feelings are coming up. The original N stood for Non-identification in Buddhist terms, meaning you can witness that these feelings are like clouds that appear in the sky - and just as no cloud has ever remained permanently, these feelings too shall pass.
This is how I have adapted it to apply to Self-Talk.
R.A.I.N
A FRAMEWORK FOR TRANSFORMATION
R - Recognize: Pause and notice your self-talk patterns
- What thoughts arise in challenging situations?
- What's the tone of your inner voice?
- Which patterns repeat most often?
A - Allow: Accept the presence of these thoughts without judgment
- Give yourself permission to feel
- Create space for all emotions
- Release the need to fix or change immediately
I - Investigate: Explore with gentle curiosity
- Where did these thought patterns originate?
- What fears or beliefs drive them?
- How do they serve or limit you?
N - Nurture: Respond with compassion
- Speak to your inner child with love
- Validate feelings while offering new perspectives
- Remember you are the conscious parent now

A PERSONAL REVELATION: FROM LIMITATION TO EMPOWERMENT
Recently, while preparing for a major life change, I caught my self-talk spinning stories about all the potential challenges and obstacles. Despite my deep understanding of how I create my own reality and energy work, I noticed these limiting thoughts trying to take root. This was my opportunity to practice what I teach.
Through applying the R.A.I.N. process, I recognized these thoughts were not truth—they were old survival programming from times when change meant danger. By investigating deeper, I discovered this cautionary self-talk was actually my scared inner child and my ego trying to keep me safe, believing my future would be like my past.
In that moment of awareness, I could consciously shift my dialogue: "Thank you for trying to protect me. We are safe to expand and grow."
Every change is an opportunity for greater alignment with our divine purpose.
This simple shift transformed my energy around the entire situation, opening me to new possibilities and inspired action.
By then taking action, I was able to show my inner child that she could trust in me and our present reality now. We were no longer victims to our past.

It's crucial to understand that our outer reality is shaped by our subconscious beliefs, not our conscious ones. Only through consistent practice does this new way of speaking to ourselves sink from the conscious mind into the subconscious, where it can truly begin to manifest changes in our external world.
